87 How Can I Fight to Win?
God continues to show us His love in Christ by teaching on relationships. Simultaneously, God is telling us how much He loves us and how to have strong earthly relationships too. Nothing is more important than understanding God’s love for His children and today we gain deeper understanding into that.
God understands relationships can be difficult and He has not left us alone. He has provided all we need to fight and win. How? That is what we cover in today’s Grace at LAST podcast. I am so glad you joined in.
86 The New Me
Sometimes we are told walking with God is a list of "do’s" and “do not’s”. Some teach our true condition will be seen by our fruit. If we don’t understand what Paul is saying here, we can become a rule follower instead of being Spirit led. Ephesians 5 is full of so many truths that when applied to our lives, everything gets better, almost immediately. God tells us these things because He created us, marriage, the church, plan of salvation, and all creatures great and small. His ways work. If we want healthy relationships and are willing to trust God and what He has said, we can have the marriage and other relationships we never thought possible. Let’s learn together from the apostle Paul and implement these truths into our lives as the Spirit leads us. I believe we will see miracles and enjoy healthy relationships like never before.
85 God’s Thoughts on Healthy Relationships
Paul’s writings in Ephesians 5 can appear to be works. It has a lot of “do’s” and “don’ts” included in the writings. If we don’t have a grasp on what Paul is saying, we can become extremely judgmental. We can gauge spirituality by behavior and even condemn people and label them as not walking with the Lord because of their lifestyle. Lifestyle is very important, and Paul addresses that subject. After spending considerable time in chapters 1-3 telling us the change that has taken place in us, he tells us what life will look like. Remembering it always starts with who we are in Christ, our identity, not how we behave. When our character starts with our identity, we are authentic. God has some very enlightening insights in this portion of the letter, and we don’t want to miss a thing. Thanks for joining in today.
84 How to Have the Relationships My Heart Desires
Relationships can be difficult and bring a dark cloud over our lives if they are unhealthy. We can desire good healthy relationships, and yet find ourselves in difficult and challenging ones instead. Guilt and shame can settle in, and we might not know where to turn for answers. Paul has a lot to say about that in this portion of his letter to the Ephesians. Today, we may find ourselves in the same place, or possibly someone we know. We can learn so much from what Paul has to say and when we believe it and choose this path, life gets better, and better, and better. Let see what Paul’s advice is to these believers that he was so fond of with love and devotion. There is so much to learn that we can believe and live in our own lives today, as Paul shares some beautiful truths with us so we can have the relationships our heart desires.
83 Saved and Redeemed, Now What?
Ephesians 4 is a pivotal point in Paul’s letter. If taken out of context, we can be led astray and deceived. We may think God expects things from us that is not true at all.
Understanding the church and what God intended when He made us new creatures in Christ, will drastically change everything. Far too long we have been told it is about works and sacrifice for God when the truth is, it is Jesus’ works and sacrifice that makes us perfect and right with God.
Paul mentions some of the spiritual gifts Jesus gave to the body. How can we appreciate the purpose of the gifts and get all we can in understanding and therefore walk in the reality of these truths?
So many nuggets in this chapter and we learn more about the spiritual blessings that belong to us, because we belong to Christ.
82 Where do I Begin to Understand What is Mine in Christ?
Understanding the oneness we have with God and Jesus through the Holy Spirit, changes everything. We need to keep being reminded of how much God loves us and what we have in Christ. Paul prayed earnestly for revelation through the Spirit for those that are in Christ. He said what Christ has done for us is beyond what our minds can even fathom. All of this comes from being grounded and rooted in the love of Christ, we must begin there. Today we discuss how to do that so we can experience the reality of the inheritance we have been left. Understanding our strength comes from the Holy Spirit in the inner man, on the inside, will enable us to live above the circumstances of life and find that hiding place in God. We have been united with God, He is our comfort and strength, and He lives inside of those who believe what He said about His Son. I pray you enjoy your oneness with Him to the full.
81 What is the Hidden Mystery Now Revealed?
Paul has more insight and mystery to reveal to those who are in Christ. He wants them to know about a mystery that had been hidden up until that point, but he was about to make it known. This mystery that is being revealed is beyond comprehension. The vastness of the wealth we have been given in Christ is too big to grasp. When we understand scripture the way God intended when He inspired man to write it down, it will take us to a deeper understanding, love and intimacy in our relationship with the Lord and one another. There are not enough words to adequately explain the love of God found in Christ Jesus.
Let’s explore together and see what we can learn about a love so great it can only be revealed by the Spirit of God.
80 How Did Jesus Bring Me Close?
Those who were far from God, have been brought near. All people are included to believe in the promises of God and partake of the blessings. Jesus has taken us out of the kingdom of darkness and placed us into the kingdom of light, but what does that actually mean in reality? Paul wanted them and us to understand. He is reaching out to people who were looking for answers. His message was a message of hope and redemption. To all who are in darkness, come. Come into the light and knowledge of the Lord by receiving His Spirit. Come understand who you are, where you came from, and where you are going. Come into the kingdom of God.
79 How Am I Made Alive in Christ?
Ephesians tells us that God made dead people alive. How does He do that and what is our part? God mentions disobedience and some scary consequences for those who don’t do what He says. Or is that the really the definition of disobedience and how can I know so I am sure I understand truth? Many people are of the opinion that we should keep grace in check and not get out of balance, but Paul didn’t have that attitude and it isn’t the message he imparted to his readers. Let’s seek to understand this letter to the Ephesians and the message Paul wanted to convey without dissecting it and tearing apart a message of love and redemption.
78 Am I Living in the Spiritual Blessings I Have Been Blessed With?
We have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places and yet sometimes it seems as if our reality is far from that.
Paul had an inheritance he wants us to know about so God had him write a letter to the Ephesians and preserve it so it will also enrich our lives today.
As the wealthiest people on the planet, living with a poverty mindset is unacceptable if we are going to enjoy our inheritance. Being able to identify and clearly claim our rightful inheritance, begins with knowing what it is.
Today, we start that journey as we look at a portion of Ephesians 1 that will greatly enlighten us as to some of the wonderful blessings we have in Christ.
77 What Are My Blessings and How Can I Experience Them Today?
Paul tells us in Ephesians we have been blessed with every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places. When we walk in the reality of that truth, we experience the blessings we have been left. Too many of God’s people are living in poverty when they are the wealthiest people on planet earth. Understanding the riches that belong to those in Christ is overwhelming and can override any darkness or despair painful experiences in this life can bring. Let’s begin an exploration of understanding the truths of the new covenant that brings us every spiritual blessing in the heavenly places.
76 Am I the New Temple?
Are we waiting for a temple to be built or are we the temple? Understanding the teachings from Jesus and Paul, we can understand more about who we are rather than what we are to do. We should be functioning more from our new identity and less about following rules and traditions. What is the difference in the old covenant relationship with God and how it is for us today? Has God provided something so much better, and we want Moses and the Law instead? How do I know if I am the temple? It is so important that our identity be our starting place. These things and more on today’s Grace at LAST podcast. Thanks for joining in.
75 Where Can I Find Comfort?
Life is difficult sometimes and the pain we experience can seem overwhelming. Many are lonely, confused, depressed, addicted, hopeless and angry. We need answers in this life and we need to know where to go. The world promises answers and others are available for hire. We can go to people, places and things first and miss out on where we really need to go to get the help we need. We live in a kingdom the people in the old testament writings only dreamed of and we may not realize it. If we have a misunderstanding of the incredible beauty and gift Jesus brought in with the new covenant of grace, we might miss out on a bunch of really great stuff. Let’s learn where to go and how to process life’s challenges so we can enter the rest available in Christ.
74 Can I Lose Eternal Rewards in this Life?
Gaining and losing rewards can be a mindset from where we habitually operate. This stems from a root of fear and a misunderstanding of the finished work of Christ. Today we look at the topic of losing rewards if we fall short of God’s expectations or requirements. What is our assurance of our inheritance and how can we begin to enjoy it today? There is a rest available for God’s people and the truths we will discuss today will help us to experience it in our personal lives not just something we read or hear about. I am so glad you joined in today.
73 Can We Gain Eternal Rewards in this Life?
Are we able to obtain eternal rewards in this lifetime? Some teachings lead us to believe the more money we give to building the kingdom of God, the more money God will give us as a reward. God sent us the apostle Paul to teach about life in the new covenant and he tells us God wants us to be joyful in our giving but sometimes that is difficult. What can we learn from Paul and be sure we have a proper perspective of what he meant when he said, “Now this I say, he who sows sparingly will also reap sparingly, and he who sows bountifully will also reap bountifully.” in 2 Corinthians 9:6? Thanks for joining me today.
72 When Did the Old Covenant End and the New Covenant Begin?
Understanding the dividing line in human history is very important. The world goes by a calendar marked by the birth of Christ but God goes by the death of Christ. The death of Christ brought in a new covenant and understanding when the old covenant was over and the new covenant began, will bring us freedom in our mind. We will understand more what God expects from us and leave the dead works behind that get us nowhere. God is building a family with those who believe what He said about His Son and the whole world is invited to receive this gift. Let’s see together what truths we can learn that will help us experience the freedom Christ came to bring.
71 Has the “Tribulation” Already Occurred?
Today on the Grace at LAST podcast Corinne continues her conversation with Brad Robertson from GraceReach. The conversation began in episode 70, Sharing the Gospel of Grace with Brad Robertson. After discussing the gospel of grace, the conversation turned toward Brad's book; Nebuchadnezzar's Dream. We explored the possibility of the wrath of God most believers think is in the future and known as The Great Tribulation, could have been God's wrath poured out on Israel in AD70 when the Romans destroyed Jerusalem and the temple. Would that fit with all of scripture? Pre-trib, mid-trib, post-trib have been the topic of many conversations, books and movies. Could we be preoccupied with trying to understand a future time that is actually in the past? Simply having a conversation and understanding even more how perfect and finished Christ's sacrifice was for mankind, takes us deeper in our love and intimacy the new covenant of grace offers. Thanks for joining in today.
70 Brad Robertson Sharing the Gospel of Grace
Today on our Grace at LAST podcast we talk about depression and the answer. Knowing about joy and peace is very different than experiencing it in our life. I know the promises of God are good, but how do I get there? What single truth can I learn that could change my entire life and how can I avoid allowing the enemy to steal, kill and destroy the abundant life Jesus came to give me? We also talk about other truths surrounding the resurrection of the Christ and what it really means when we celebrate Good Friday and Easter. Forgiveness is only half of the gospel, and we discuss the other half, the half of the story that makes us alive. These topics and more on today’s Grace at LAST podcast. Thanks for joining in.
